Measurements
Auto-fit measures every index for you. To measure by hand, switch to Measure and tap both ends of an index (for round dots, two opposite edges). A magnifier appears while your finger is down so you can place points exactly.
What to check on this dial
Auto-fit locks onto your dial's own minute track, then resizes the index outlines and date window to match your actual dial. The model template supplies the layout (which hours have a date, subdials or a triangle); the measurements come from your photo.
Flags on this photo
Use Flag to pin anything else: a print smudge, a bezel mark, an end-link gap. Each pin goes into your post.
Check each point and say exactly where
The sub ignores "looks off". Pick a location and what's wrong, and the app writes the specific sentence for you. Your measurements and flags land here automatically.
Read the timegrapher numbers
Enter what's on the dealer's timegrapher photo or video. Rate can be adjusted later; amplitude and beat error tell you about the movement's health.
Scan the timegrapher photo
Auto-fillChoose a photo or screenshot of the timegrapher screen. Claude reads rate, amplitude, beat error, beat rate and lift angle and fills them in below. You can also load it with your QC photos on the Align tab and it will be picked up there.
Reading it right
- Use the reading taken fully wound, dial up, after the numbers settle. Ask for a video if you only got one frozen photo.
- A few seconds per day either way is fine and a watchmaker can regulate it. Low amplitude or high beat error can't be fixed by regulating.
- Amplitude depends on the lift angle the machine was set to. A wrong lift angle can shift amplitude by 10–20%, so note it if it's shown.
- 28,800 bph is the normal beat rate for most modern automatics, not a fault.
Decide, then post the full template
QC images for your post
Share-readyThree clean images from your photo and measurements: the dial with the alignment overlay, close-ups of every index on its line, and the date window with your timing and checklist. Add them to your Imgur album next to the dealer's photos.
AI decision
Second opinionClaude looks at your QC photo, the template overlay with your measurements, and everything you marked, then applies the sub's standards and makes a GL or RL call. It uses your own Claude usage and asks permission the first time.
Watch details
Heads up: the sub's automod has removed new Yupoo and Mega links. Re-upload the album to Imgur from a computer so it keeps full resolution.
Your post
Photos to ask your dealer for
Before you post
- Post the whole QC album, timing included. Incomplete packets get removed.
- Wait for timing data from the seller before posting if it's missing.
- Answer every point. "Not sure", "N/A" on a model that has the feature, or a wall of text get posts removed.
- Be specific: "the 9 index is tilted counter-clockwise", not "looks odd". Mods discourage vague words and lines drawn on the dial.
- Compare against other QC photos of the same model from the dealer, not the genuine watch. Rep dials differ from gen and that isn't a QC flaw.
- Judge at real size too: zoom out until the dial is wrist-sized. A flaw you can't see there rarely justifies a red light.
- Most alignment "flaws" posted turned out to be a tilted photo. If several indices lean the same way, ask for a straight-on shot first.
- Sellers usually allow two or three RLs before offering a refund instead, so save your RLs for flaws the sub actually rejects.
- Upvote the people who help you.
How did Loupe QC do?
v1.0Feedback shapes the next version. Pick what happened, add a line if you like, then copy it into the feedback thread.
Privacy: your photos are measured on your phone and are never uploaded by the app. Only when an AI feature runs (model detection, timegrapher scan or AI verdict) are they sent to Anthropic's Claude API to be read, and they aren't kept by this site. The copied feedback contains no photo.
